Reinette de Flandres is an old apple variety which appears to have originated in southern Belgium or northern France, where it is still commonly found.
Like many older varieties it is essentially dual-purpose - crisp and juicy for eating fresh, but also very suitable for juicing, and can be baked or used in preserves.
