Growing and Training

Precoce Henin is easy to grow and generally disease-resistant. It is not usually necessary to thin this variety, as it will readily drop excess fruitlets in late spring.

History

Precoce Henin was raised in the 1970s by Mr Henin of Liege, Belgium. Although it is therefore quite modern, its sweet flavours and melting flesh harken back to the classical era of Belgian pear development a century earlier.
