Deveci pear trees

Pyrus communis
Deveci
  • Picking season: Very late
  • Self-fertility: Not self-fertile
  • Flowering group: 3

Deveci is a large eating pear, thought to originate from Turkey.

The huge pears can weigh over 1kg each, and as a result the tree may take on a pendulous habit as it ages.

The pears ripen very late - usually at the end of October or early November, making this a good variety for extending the fresh pear season. They can also be kept for several months.
