Malus domestica
Oksana apples
Oksana is listed in the RHS Plants for Pollinators
  • Picking season: Very late
  • Self-fertility: Not self-fertile
  • Flowering group: 4

Oksana is an attractive late-season red-flushed apple, thought to originate from eastern Europe.

Oksana ripens in early October - and the apples should be left as late as possible for the best flavours.

The apples have a fine light crisp flesh, a mild sweet flavour, and very little acidity - so easy and undemanding to eat. The level of sweetness is affected by the summer weather - warmer temperatures generally means a sweeter flavour.
