Baguette d'Hiver is a traditional dessert apple from northern France. It is also a good variety for juicing and for adding to cider blends. The apples ripen at the end of September and will keep for several months.
Baguette d'Hiver flowers quite late in the spring, and is a good pollinator for other late-flowering apple varieties.
This variety is relatively unusual in that the apples are born on the tips of the branches - meaning that routine pruning is not usually necessary.
