Martin saskatoon bushes

Amelanchier alnifolia
  • Picking period: early July
  • Self-fertility: Self-fertile

Martin is a well-known Canadian Saskatoon variety. The fruits are relatively large with  good sweet-sharp flavour.

Unlike most Saskatoons which ripen progressively over a period of a week or so, the fruits of Martin tend to ripen all at once - making harvesting quicker and easier, provided you can process the resulting abundance of fruits.
