Malus domestica
Gaillarde
Gaillarde is listed in the RHS Plants for Pollinators
  • Picking season: Late
  • Self-fertility: Not self-fertile
  • Flowering group: 3

Gaillarde is a traditional eating apple originating from the north of France near the Belgian border. The apples are large, with a yellow-green skin covered with a red flush.

Unusually for a late-season variety the apples do not keep for long, but they have a crisp flesh and a good sweet-sharp flavour.
